PharmNovo is developing new treatments for neuropathic pain. The company's leading drug candidate, PN6047, selectively activates the delta opioid receptor rather than the mu opioid receptor targeted by traditional opioids.
PN6047 has completed Phase 1 with a favourable safety and tolerability profile and is now being prepared for a Phase 2a proof-of-concept study. The company has also presented preclinical data indicating potential in, among other areas, migraine and opioid withdrawal.
