Modus Therapeutics is developing the drug candidate sevuparin for the treatment of both chronic and acute severe disease conditions. The most advanced programme is a clinical phase 2a study in chronic kidney disease with anaemia.
The first part of the study showed that sevuparin was well tolerated at all tested dose levels. The ongoing second part is evaluating repeated dosing and aims to establish clinical proof of concept. Sevuparin is also being evaluated for potential use in sepsis and severe malaria.
In brief:
- Clinical phase 2a ongoing
- Proof-of-concept data expected in 2026
- Three potential indication areas
