AnaCardio is developing new treatments for heart failure based on ghrelin signalling. The company's most advanced drug candidate, AC01, is an oral treatment developed to improve the heart's contractile function without the safety issues associated with traditional inotropic drugs.
The Phase 1b/2a clinical study GOAL-HF1 has shown a favourable safety and tolerability profile as well as promising signals of improved cardiac function. The results were published in The Lancet in June 2026 and support continued development in Phase 2b.
